Shadowlands

This is a 17 minute documentary of the process of creating this drama in Fredericksburg in August 2006. It was performed by THE FREDERICKSBURG THEATER COMPANY under the direction of Jeryl Hoover. It is a drama by William Nicholson about C.S. Lewis (John Hierholtzer), who in his late 50's fell in love with Joy Davidman Gresham (Sarah Fontenot.) At first, my sole goal was to document Sarah doing this role. But before it was over (as was the experience of most of the people who saw the play) I was completely caught up in the story. This play is a voyage through love, life, loss and how they all fit together (or don't!)

There are 2 ways to enjoy this video.

Corps Classic

This goes out to Rich Holt - our good friend who volunteered for a tour in Iraq. He is a surgeon and currently in charge of maintaing the health of our service men over there. His commitment is an inspiration to us all.

We went with the Holts to the "Corps Classic" at the Alamo Dome. A great game between Army and A&M. The fact that I had to wear a maroon shirt for the game was a tough pill to swallow for this UT graduate, however it was much better than being left beat up in the parking lot! Thanks to the Holts for a great day; and HERE'S TO RICH HOLT!!

Padding Chairs

Woah!!! Somehow I deleted this entry!

Sarah and I had Owen over for an evening. We put him to work- we needed to put soft pads on our chairs to protect our hard wood floors. I love this movie -- very spontaneous - captures the moment.

Tuscany

I have decided to re-post all the films from Tuscany under one entry.
We went there with the Misers and the Degrands in 2005.
This is still my favorite vacation ever; not only because of the great company but also the great and beautiful Tuscan countryside and towns. With Amanda as our trusty guide, we saw these little "mountain towns." I have set the video clips to the wonderful music of Dick Hyman from the movie "Moonstruck." Click on the town name below to see the film and enjoy a little taste of Tuscany!

Prom 2006

This is a video of the preparation and activities of prom night. Sarah and I were lucky enough to be included in parts of the evening and I had a lot of fun putting together the video.

So, here's to Andrew and all the other graduating Seniors. Good luck in your future endeavors, and happy memories!

Glad You're Home

Here is another song. It's called "Glad You're Home." I wrote is a year and a half ago when we were visited by Patsy and Ford Clark and their (then) 11 year old daughter Sarah (WITH AN "H") and 9 year old son Kevin. As it turns out, they have hidden talents. Sarah has a sassy sultry voice great for voice over - so she recorded the speaking samples. Kevin can make a couple of the most bizzare sound effects - the first one is kind of a croaking duck in free fall, and the second is zippy zingy sound. These are unaltered sound effects!! You gotta hear it.

So, the day they were over, I had written a cool little guitar lick (the opening measures) and so we ran into the studio just for fun. We laid the whole thing out in about 2 hours. I was astonished at how cool "speed recording" could be; and also how fresh the sound was -- lyrics made up on the spot, splicing and dicing the samples. Anyway, thanks to Sarah and Kevin for re-introducing me to how much fun music is when you don't take it so seriously!

As usual, click on the image to get the song!

Merry Christmas to all. While Sarah's parents were helping us decorate the tree this year, I created this little video. We hope you all enjoy it - especially Bill O'Reilly!
